CELEBRATION OF FAITH

2012 Theme:  My Friends in the Faith

Calling all Orthodox youth to celebrate your faith and participate in the F.O.C.A.’s creative arts contest

All youth who are communicants in a parish or mission of a canonical Orthodox Church in North America are encouraged to participate in this event.

The theme is very broad.  This should allow for a lot of creative ideas.  A portrait of a person showing character, an icon made in traditional or modern styles, or a painting of the church with people in it are acceptable visual examples that will demonstrate the theme.  A poem about yourself and the church, an essay explaining your faith and growing up in the church, and a special faith-based story about a friend or loved one in the church would also be great interpretations of the theme for literature entries.  Compositions of sound and music with words or harmonies suited to the theme will also be accepted.  A photo or collage of photos related to the church and faith will also be a great way to share your faith and participate in the contest.

Create and submit art projects in the following areas:

Literature    Musical Composition

Photography  Visual Arts

A detailed list of rules for each category and entry forms may be found on the FOCA website or through your Jr. Advisor or your Youth Coordinator.
